About the Role
St Clare's is currently seeking an experienced and professional Assistant Principal - Learning and Teaching to join our inclusive and dynamic team.
The Assistant Principal – Learning and Teaching supports the Principal in the leadership of St Clare’s College as a member of the College Leadership Team. The College Leadership Team is inspired at all times by the ethos of St Clare's and focusses on leading and developing the Catholic character of the school in the Franciscan tradition. Working in partnership with the College Leadership Team, the Assistant Principal - Learning and Teaching has primary responsibility for the leadership, development and administration of excellence in in Learning and Teaching across the College, supporting overall student academic wellbeing.
Please note that this position is for an initial two-year period with an opportunity for further extensions. Two further extensions (each of four years) may be offered based on performance outcomes. This position will be underpinned by a permanent (ongoing) teaching position within Catholic Education.
Appropriate qualifications and experience in educational leadership;
A commitment to promoting and embedding Gospel values in teaching programs and practices, and a willingness to undertake on-going learning about the Spiritualty of St Clare's College (Successful applicants for the position of Assistant Principal are required to be practising Catholics);
A strong understanding of contemporary approaches in pedagogy, curriculum development and student assessment;
Demonstrated effectiveness in leading and developing a team and bringing about effective improvement and innovation;
Superior interpersonal, organisation and communication skills;
- Must hold a relevant Working with Children registration and Teaching Accreditation;
- Must have completed relevant teaching/education tertiary qualification.
