About the Role 

A Canteen Assistant plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of a school or workplace canteen by preparing and serving food, maintaining cleanliness, and providing excellent customer service. Key responsibilities include assisting with food preparation, ensuring food safety standards are met,  and keeping the kitchen and dining area clean and organised. The role offers several benefits, such as the opportunity to work in a dynamic and social environment, gain valuable experience in food handling and customer service, and play a part in promoting healthy eating habits. It also provides a steady work environment with potential for growth in the food service or hospitality sectors, offering employees the chance to develop new skills and advance in their careers.

Qualifications  

  • Trades qualification or Certificate III
  • Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) registration.
