Salary Range: $82,796 to $136,848 plus superannuation. Salary is determined based on years of teaching service.

About the Role 

Religious Education Teachers play a vital role in nurturing students’ relationship with God while deepening their knowledge of Catholic beliefs, values, and practices. Guided by the CECG-approved Religious Education Curriculum, the teacher designs engaging and meaningful learning experiences that promote spiritual and moral growth, encourage respect for others, and foster personal faith development. Religious Education Teachers share the richness of the Catholic tradition, helping students grow in their faith and live out the Gospel message.

Qualifications  

  • Bachelor of Teaching or Master of Teaching
  • ACT Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) registration.
  • ACT Teacher Quality Institute (TQI) registration.

To teach Religious Education in a Catholic school (to be a Religious Education Teacher), a teacher must: 

  • Be Catholic; 
  • Provide a reference from a current Parish Priest; and 
  • Have completed or are due to complete Accreditation D – Teach Religious Education in a Catholic school in accordance with the Accreditation to Work, Teach and Lead in Catholic Education, Canberra and Goulburn Policy.
