About the role

St Mary’s War Memorial Primary School has an opportunity for a Principal to join the School. The Principal is required to lead dedicated staff who engage with students, families, and friends and work together to provide the best learning outcomes for students. At St Mary's, the Principal has the privilege of leading 25 staff in a school with 119 student enrolments.

Essential Criteria

  1. Practising Catholic with a demonstrated commitment to Catholic education and an understanding of the leadership role in Catholic education
  2. Possess academic qualifications additional to initial teacher education (Master’s degree or five-year equivalent)
  3. Demonstrated comprehensive understanding of curriculum, assessment and student welfare issues, including child protection
  4. experience in leading inclusive teaching and learning communities
  5. Demonstrated capacity to make data-informed decisions to inform teaching and learning
  6. Demonstrated ability to integrate the use of information and communication technologies to both engage students in their learning and prepare them for an increasingly technological society
  7. Demonstrated experience in building teacher capacity and managing the performance of individuals and teams
  8. Demonstrated capacity to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to improve teaching and learning
  9. strong interpersonal skills and effective change agent with the ability to influence a wide range of stakeholders, including parents, other systemic principals, Catholic Education personnel and external stakeholders
  10. Demonstrated ability to meet the five leadership practices of our Leadership Framework as outlined in the Principal Applicant Pack.
  11. Be accredited, or willing to undergo accreditation, in accordance with the Accreditation to Work, Teach and Lead Policy in Catholic Education, Canberra and Goulburn.
