Merici College is an all-girls 7-12 Catholic College authorised to offer the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (Years 11-12) and the Middle Years Programme (Years 7-10). We are a part of the Catholic Education Archdiocese of Canberra and Goulburn (CECG), which operates 56 Catholic Systemic Schools and nine Early Learning Centres across ACT and NSW.

About the Role
The Design and Technology Coordinator is responsible for the delivery of the Design and Technology curriculum. This position is responsible for the implementation of CECG’s Catalyst Program and High Impact Teaching Practices and oversees and guides curriculum development in line with ACARA, BSSS, and International Baccalaureate requirements. The Design and Technology Coordinator plays a key role in fostering collegiality and effective department teamwork to ensure courses cater for a range of individual needs and learning styles.

Qualifications
- Bachelor of Teaching or Master of Teaching.
- Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) registration.
- Teaching Quality Institute (TQI) registration.
Selection Criteria
- A comprehensive understanding of Catalyst initiatives and High Impact Teaching Practices and the need to provide appropriate support and feedback to teaching staff.
- A thorough knowledge of the Australian Curriculum with the ability to organise, select and design content for effective teaching and learning within the classroom and across the school.
- Strong professional experience in teaching across Years 7 – 12, with demonstrated excellence as a classroom teacher and a commitment to furthering the College’s philosophies, including enhancing learning through integrating ICT and the Principles of Powerful Learning.
- A capacity to effectively coordinate a teaching team, supervise staff across different subject areas, promote their and the department’s professional development, and work with the Design and Technologies staff to effect change.
- A thorough knowledge of current issues in education and the teaching of Vocational subjects, an innovative approach to curriculum and the capacity to effectively coordinate programs in Design and Technology.
