About the Role

The Religious Education faculty is highly skilled, professional, creative and dynamic, and is passionate about Religious Education curriculum. In conjunction with teaching the course, the teacher is abreast of changes in the curriculum, develops new resources, and displays a commitment to professional development. The teacher has as excellent skills in the use of technology and delights in the wonderful exploration of ideas in the classroom. As part of a vibrant team, the teacher contributes both professionally and collegially to the Religious Education team. Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills are important, as is a commitment to enhancing learning in all facets of the curriculum.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Teaching or Master in Teaching.
  • Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) registration.
  • Teacher Quality Institute (TQI) registration. 

To teach Religious Education in a Catholic school (to be a Religious Education Teacher), a teacher must: 

  • Be Catholic; 
  • Provide a reference from a current Parish Priest; and
  • Have completed or be due to complete Accreditation D – Teach Religious Education in a Catholic school in accordance with the Accreditation to Work, Teach and Lead in Catholic Education, Canberra and Goulburn Policy.
