Salary Range: $85,694 to $141,638 plus superannuation. Salary is determined based on years of teaching service.  
Allowance: $31,965 | NSW Assistant Principal (Primary 101-250)
Employment Status: Full-time 
Eligibility: Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident

About the Role   

The Assistant Principal is a key member of the school’s leadership team, working closely with the Principal to foster a positive, inclusive, and high-achieving school culture. The Assistant Principal supports the strategic direction of the school by contributing to collaborative decision-making, goal setting, and the implementation of initiatives that enhance teaching and learning. The Assistant Principal oversees the delivery of evidence-based practices, monitors student progress, and uses data to inform continuous improvement. A strong focus is placed on supporting teachers through professional development, coaching, and mentoring, while also strengthening partnerships with families and the wider community. This position requires a balance of instructional leadership, operational management, and a commitment to ensuring every child has the opportunity to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally

Qualifications and Essential Criteria

  • Bachelor of Education or Master of Teaching 
  • NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) accreditation 
  • NSW Working with Children Check (WWCC) 
  • Postgraduate qualification in Religious Education or Theological Studies or be due to complete 
  • Academic qualifications additional to Initial Teacher Education (Master’s Degree or five-year equivalent) 
  • Practicing Catholic connected to a parish or other worshipping community 
  • Provide a reference from a current Parish Priest
