Salary Range: $82,796 to $136,848 plus superannuation. Salary is determined based on years of teaching service.  
Employment Status: Full-time

St John Paul II College (JPC) is a Catholic, co-educational secondary school serving families in the north of Canberra. At JPC, we strive for excellence in teaching so that our students are offered every opportunity for success in their learning. Teachers at JPC are provided structured professional learning opportunities including a focus on offering students an excellent education through the implementation of the Science of Learning as expressed through Catholic Education Canberra and Goulburn’s ‘Catalyst’ program.

About the Role    

As a Classroom Teacher, you will be instrumental in fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment where students feel valued, motivated, and supported to achieve their best. You will bring enthusiasm and creativity to your teaching, helping students develop essential knowledge, skills, and dispositions for lifelong learning. You will plan and deliver well-structured, curriculum-aligned lessons that cater for diverse learning styles and abilities. You will be supported through our teaching and learning approach, Catalyst. Through thoughtful planning, meaningful assessment, and responsive teaching, you will ensure all students are challenged, supported, and able to achieve their personal best. Your teaching will reflect a student-centred approach that values inclusivity, creativity, and the development of critical and reflective thinking skills. You will integrate a range of evidence-based strategies and digital tools to enhance engagement and make learning relevant and purposeful. Working collaboratively with colleagues, families, and the wider school community, you will contribute to a positive and connected school culture. You will also participate in professional learning and whole-school initiatives that promote continuous improvement and wellbeing.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Teaching or Master of Teaching 
  • ACT Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) clearance 
  • ACT Teacher Quality Institute (TQI) registration
