Salary Range: $160,584 to $173,605 plus superannuation (based on skills and experience)

About Us  

Catholic Archdiocese of Canberra and Goulburn Education Limited (CECG) plays an integral role in education in the ACT and NSW, operating 56 Schools and nine Early Learning Centres (ELCs). The Catholic Education Office (CEO) provides corporate services Schools and ELCs.   

The CEO provides corporate services to the CECG system of Schools and ELCs. These Service Areas include; Education and Performance Improvement, Catholic Identity, School and Family Services, Strategy and Special Projects, Finance and Infrastructure, Information and Communication Technology and People and Culture. 

About the Role  

This role is responsible for optimising the delivery of Finance as a Service (FaaS) across CECG, ensuring timely and accurate month-end and annual reporting, maintaining the integrity of financial records including the Fixed Assets Register, and overseeing high-risk account reviews. The successful candidate will collaborate with the FP&A team to produce insightful management reports, support statutory and regulatory reporting, and contribute to BAS, FBT, and workers compensation returns.

Key responsibilities also include maintaining effective financial controls, supporting external audits, implementing policy and accounting changes, and providing training to new team members. The role involves liaising with external partners and managing the CEO salary packaging program, including FBT compliance and payroll data integrity.

Qualifications   

  • Tertiary qualifications in Accounting or Business and current membership of a relevant professional accounting body such as CA or CPA, highly regarded.
  • 5+ years’ experience in a similar Financial Leadership role.
  • Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) and Working with Children’s Check (WWCC) registrations.
  • Driver’s License
