Salary Range: $82,796 to $136,848 plus superannuation. Salary is determined based on years of teaching service.

St John Paul II College (JPC) is a Catholic, co-educational secondary school serving families in the north of Canberra. About the Role    

As a French Teacher, you will play an integral role in cultivating students’ linguistic skills and cultural understanding through the study of the French language. You will inspire learners to appreciate the richness of global communication and the value of connecting across cultures. You will design and deliver well-structured, curriculum-aligned lessons that engage students in developing their listening, speaking, reading, and writing abilities. Using authentic texts, real-world contexts, and interactive learning experiences, you will create opportunities for students to use French meaningfully and confidently. Your teaching will reflect a dynamic, student-focused approach that encourages collaboration, creativity, and critical thinking. You will integrate a range of pedagogical strategies and digital tools to enhance language acquisition and ensure lessons are accessible, engaging, and relevant to all learners. As part of a collaborative faculty, you will work closely with colleagues to share best practice, support cross-curricular initiatives, and contribute to a culture of professional growth and excellence in language learning. This role offers an exciting opportunity to inspire students to see language as a pathway to understanding others and to develop the confidence and curiosity that will serve them well beyond the classroom.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Teaching or Master of Teaching 
  • Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) clearance 
  • Teacher Quality Institute (TQI) registration
