About Us  

Catholic Archdiocese of Canberra and Goulburn Education Limited (CECG) operates in the ACT and NSW, supporting 56 Schools and nine Early Learning Centres (ELCs). 

The Catholic Education Office (CEO) provides corporate services to the CECG system of schools, ELCs and the CEO through several service areas including Education and Performance Improvement, Catholic Identity, School and Family Services, Strategy and Special Projects, Finance and Infrastructure, Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and People and Culture. 

About the Role  

The School Governance & Policy Officer supports the effective operation of the comprehensive school governance and policy frameworks in Catholic Archdiocese of Canberra and Goulburn Education Limited. The role has a strong operational focus, contributing to the development, implementation, and maintenance of governance and policy frameworks that support schools to meet their obligations, operate effectively, and deliver on mission.

Key Responsibilities of the role include: 

  • Draft and update policy and school governance documentation using approved templates and style guides, ensuring consistency, clarity, and accessibility across the policy suite.
  • Provide practical governance support to schools, including assistance with school council documentation, governance templates, guidance materials, and procedural requirements.
  • Assist with implementation planning for new or revised governance and policy requirements, including preparing supporting reference and guidance materials, such as frequently asked questions, and practical tools for schools.

Qualifications and Eligibility   

  • Tertiary qualifications, or equivalent experience in governance, policy, law, education, public administration, or a related discipline.
  • Willingness and ability to obtain Accreditation in accordance with Work Teach and Lead in Catholic Education Canberra and Goulburn policy
  • Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) registration and Working With Children Check (WWCC) 
  • Current Drivers Licence.
