Position Description

Salary Range: $67,470 plus superannuation
Employment Status: Full-time | Contract till end of 2026 school year 
Eligibility: Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident

About the Role    

The Canteen Assistant plays an important role in delivering a welcoming, efficient, and high-quality food service experience to our school community. The successful applicant will assist with the preparation, cooking and serving of food and beverages, including hot and cold drinks, while maintaining a clean, organised, and hygienic work environment. The role involves supporting daily canteen operations through stock management, receiving and checking deliveries, storing supplies appropriately, and ensuring serving areas remain well stocked and presentation-ready. The Canteen Assistant provides friendly and responsive service to students, staff, and visitors, works collaboratively with teachers, students, and volunteers involved in canteen activities, and contributes to a safe workplace by adhering to food safety requirements and Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) procedures at all times.

This appointment is temporary to replace an employee on leave.

Qualifications and Eligibility

  • ACT Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) clearance
  • Accreditation in accordance with Work Teach and Lead in Catholic Education Canberra and Goulburn policy
