Catholic Archdiocese of Canberra and Goulburn Education Limited (CECG) provides Catholic education in the ACT and NSW, operating 56 Catholic Systemic Schools and nine Early Learning Centres.

About the role

Casual Administration Officers play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of a school's daily activities. The duties of the position include maintaining student records, handling communication between staff, students, and parents, organising school events, and supporting the leadership team with scheduling and coordination. The Casual Administration Officer is also responsible for ensuring compliance with school policies and government regulations, managing office supplies, and providing administrative support for teachers and other staff. Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively are essential, as the role is key in creating a well-organised and efficient school environment.

Casual employees who have been approved to work, nominate preferred work locations and provide their availability through the Casual Relief System (CRS) and may be called upon, on an as-needed basis in accordance with operational needs and employee availability and preference.

Qualifications

  • Certificate IV in Business Administration (or equivalent); or
  • Certificate III in Business Administration (or equivalent); or
  • In the process of completing a relevant qualification; or
  • Three years relevant experience.

Selection Criteria

  1. Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to engage positively with colleagues, students, and the wider community.
  2. Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  3. Ability to work individually and collaboratively as part of a team.
  4. Professional experience and working knowledge of computer software packages including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  5. Excellent time management skills, attention to detail and the ability to handle several tasks concurrently and prioritise workload in an office environment.
