St Mary MacKillop College is Canberra’s largest secondary school, operating across two campuses. Years 7 to 9 are based on the Padua Campus (Wanniassa) and Years 10 to 12 are based on the St Peter’s Campus (Isabella Plains). About the Role   

St Mary MacKillop College is seeking a highly effective and passionate Hospitality Teacher to join our staff. The successful applicant will create a safe and supportive learning environment, apply engaging pedagogical practices, and differentiate instruction to meet diverse student needs. They will support students to develop an understanding of contemporary approaches and issues related to food and hospitality. The Hospitality Teacher will guide students to develop safe work practices in the preparation, storage and handling of food, and comply with current health and safety legislation. They will build respectful relationships, analyse student data to enhance learning growth, and contribute to an inclusive school culture. Strong literacy, organisation, and collaboration skills are essential, along with a commitment to ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Education or Master of Teacher
  • Certificate 2 in Hospitality and Certificate 4 in Training
  • ACT Working with Vulnerable People clearance
  • ACT Teacher Quality Institute (TQI) registration
  • Accreditation in accordance with Work Teach and Lead in Catholic Education Canberra and Goulburn policy
