About Us  

Catholic Archdiocese of Canberra and Goulburn Education Limited (CECG) operates in the ACT and NSW, supporting 56 Schools and nine Early Learning Centres (ELCs). 

The Catholic Education Office (CEO) provides corporate services to the CECG system of schools, ELCs and the CEO through several service areas including Education and Performance Improvement, Catholic Identity, School and Family Services, Strategy and Special Projects, Finance and Infrastructure, Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and People and Culture. 

About the Role  

The Information Governance Officer works collaboratively across the System, particularly within the Legal function and alongside the Information, Communication and Technology (ICT) Service Area, to support and enhance a broad range of information governance and privacy related initiatives. This role contributes to the development and continuous improvement of the Information Governance Framework, while also supporting projects and activities that enhance CACGEL System information governance and privacy maturity. This position plays a key role in strengthening compliance, improving information handling practices and embedding best practice governance and privacy principals.

Key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Keep up to date with changes in legislation and best practice in information governance.
  • Identify and assess information governance and privacy risk, escalate issues where required and support the development of mitigation strategies.
  • Conduct audits and reviews to ensure compliance with information governance policies and standards.

Qualifications and Eligibility   

  • Tertiary qualifications in information governance, records management, data governance, IT, law, or a related discipline or equivalent experience.
  • Willingness and ability to obtain Accreditation in accordance with Work Teach and Lead in Catholic Education Canberra and Goulburn policy
  • Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) registration and Working With Children Check (WWCC) 
  • Current Drivers Licence.
