About the Role   

The Assistant Principal is a key member of the school’s leadership team, working closely with the Principal to foster a positive, inclusive, and high-achieving school culture. The Assistant Principal supports the strategic direction of the school by contributing to collaborative decision-making, goal setting, and the implementation of initiatives that enhance teaching and learning. The Assistant Principal oversees the delivery of evidence-based practices, monitors student progress, and uses data to inform continuous improvement. A strong focus is placed on supporting teachers through professional development, coaching, and mentoring, while also strengthening partnerships with families and the wider community. This position requires a balance of instructional leadership, operational management, and a commitment to ensuring every child has the opportunity to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

Qualifications and Eligibility Criteria

  • Bachelor of Teaching or Master of Teaching
  • NSW Working With Children Check (WWCC) registration
  • NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) accreditation
  • Academic qualifications additional to Initial Teacher Education (Master’s Degree or five-year equivalent)
  • Provide a reference from a current Parish Priest
  • Accreditation E or be due to complete Accreditation E in accordance with the Accreditation to Work, Teach and Lead in Catholic Education Canberra and Goulburn Policy 
  • Practising Catholic connected to a parish or other worshipping community
