About the Role

The Classroom Support Assistant plays an important role in fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment by working alongside teachers to ensure that all students, particularly those with diverse learning needs, can participate in classroom learning and school life. This role involves delivering tailored support to individuals and small groups, adapting learning activities, and promoting strategies that build students’ confidence, independence, and social-emotional skills. With a strong focus on collaboration, the Classroom Support Assistant works closely with teaching staff and specialist teams to implement personalised learning adjustments that enable students to achieve their academic goals and thrive as active, engaged members of the school community.

Qualifications and Eligibility 

  • NSW Working with Children Check (WWCC) 
  • Certificate III in School-based Education Support or be undertaking an Initial Teacher Education university program of study
  • Accreditation in accordance with Work Teach and Lead in Catholic Education Canberra and Goulburn policy
