About St Mary MacKillop College

St Mary MacKillop College is Canberra’s largest secondary school, operating across two campuses. Years 7 to 9 are based on the Padua Campus (Wanniassa) and Years 10 to 12 are based on the St Peter’s Campus (Isabella Plains). MacKillop College is part of the Catholic Education, Archdiocese of Canberra and Goulburn (CECG), which operates 56 Catholic Systemic Schools and nine Early Learning Centres across ACT and NSW.

About the Role 

The Learning Commons Coordinator is an integral member of the Curriculum Leadership Team, working closely with Executive, the Leadership Team, and Learning Commons staff to foster literacy and reading, media and information literacy, inquiry-based learning, technology integration, and the promotion of digital citizenship and ethical behavior. In this role, the Coordinator ensures the efficient operation of the Learning Commons, leading a team of Learning Commons teachers. They are also responsible for developing a strategic plan that shapes the Learning Commons into a dynamic, safe, and supportive learning environment.

This appointment is temporary to replace an employee who is on leave or secondment.

Qualifications

  • Must have commenced or completed Initial Teacher Education (ITE) program.
  • Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP).
  • Teacher Quality Institute (TQI).
