St John Paul II College (JPC) is a Catholic, co-educational secondary school serving families in the north of Canberra. At JPC, we strive for excellence in teaching so that our students are offered every opportunity for success in their learning. Teachers at JPC are provided structured professional learning opportunities including a focus on offering students an excellent education through the implementation of the Science of Learning as expressed through Catholic Education Canberra and Goulburn’s ‘Catalyst’ program.  

JPC has made recent changes to the timetable including an increase in explicit teaching time and focus on routines to maximise student engagement. Staff are located in Faculty-based staffrooms to promote a focus on the delivery of quality teaching and learning programs. About the Role    

The Mission and Ministry Coordinator collaborates with the Principal and the Leadership Team to lead and shape educational and spiritual leadership, the development of a Christ-centred faith community, and ensuring Catholic perspectives are embedded across all subject areas. The Mission and Ministry Coordinator works in close partnership with the School’s Religious Education Coordinator and the position is to be held by a practicing Catholic who is committed to the Catholic faith and the spiritual wellbeing and growth of all.

Qualifications and Eligibility

  • Bachelor of Education or Master of Teaching 
  • ACT Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) registration  
  • ACT Teacher Quality Institute (TQI) registration  
  • Postgraduate qualification in Religious Education or Theological Studies or be due to complete to attain Accreditation E 
  • Academic qualifications additional to initial teacher education (Master’s Degree or five-year equivalent) 
  • Practicing Catholic connected to a Parish or other worshipping community 
  • Provide a reference from a current Parish Priest
