About the Role

St Francis Xavier College is seeking to recruit a Coordinator of English to join our team. The English Coordinator plays a vital role in the College by providing staff and student support and advice in teaching and learning and creating an environment where teaching and learning are valued. The College is seeking a person who is committed to the vision of the College ‘Living the truth, leading with courage, learning for life’ and is invested in and who will promote the mission of Catholic Education. The successful applicant will be an experienced educator, will have demonstrated successful experience in curriculum leadership and will possess initiative, integrity and vision.

The English Coordinator provides expert leadership in curriculum, teaching and learning in junior and senior studies, utilising best practice in current research, evidence and innovation to meet the needs of all learners. As a member of the Curriculum Leadership team the English Coordinator reports to the Assistant Principal Teaching and Learning and to the Principal in realising the vision and mission of the College.

This appointment is temporary to replace an employee who is on parental leave. The incumbent is entitled to return to work early in accordance with the Fair Work Act 2009.

Qualifications and Eligibility

  • Bachelor of Education or Master in Teaching
  • ACT Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) clearance
  • ACT Teacher Quality Institute (TQI) registration
  • Willingness to obtain accreditation in accordance with Work Teach and Lead in Catholic Education Canberra and Goulburn policy
