Salary: $130,206 plus superannuation 
Employment Status: Full-time (12 Month Contract)

This appointment is temporary to replace an employee who is on parental leave. The incumbent is entitled to return earlier to their substantive position in accordance with the Fair Work Act 2009.

About Us  

Catholic Archdiocese of Canberra and Goulburn Education Limited (CECG) plays an integral role in education in the ACT and NSW, operating 56 Schools and nine Early Learning Centres (ELCs). 

The Catholic Education Office (CEO) provides corporate services to the CECG system of Schools, ELCs and the CEO through seven Service Areas. These Service Areas include: Education and Performance Improvement; Catholic Identity; School and Family Services; Strategy and Special Projects; Finance and Infrastructure; Information and Communication Technology; and People and Culture. 

About the Role  

CECG is seeking a Management Accountant to provide trusted advice to school Principals and senior leaders. The Management Account delivers strategic financial insights, supports budgeting and forecasting, and helps shape the financial direction of schools and Service Areas. The role is responsible for providing guidance to a range of stakeholders to inform decision making through data insights.

Other responsibilities include:

  • Partnering with stakeholders to provide expert financial advice, budgeting support, and forecasting insights.
  • Delivering detailed financial analysis, including scenario modelling, sensitivity analysis, and performance reporting.
  • Consolidating budgets and forecasts to create system-wide financial views that inform strategic decisions.
  • Supporting infrastructure projects through improved accounting and reporting processes.
  • Enhancing financial literacy by providing training and support to school and service area staff.
  • Driving continuous improvement in financial planning and analysis (FP&A) services.
  • Assisting with aged debt analysis to support broader finance team objectives.

About the Team

The Finance and Infrastructure Service Area plays a vital role in supporting the financial health of schools, early learning centres and the CEO across the region. Working closely with Principals, Service Area leaders, and executives, the team delivers budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and reporting that informs strategic decision-making. With a strong focus on collaboration, financial literacy, and continuous improvement, the team helps ensure resources are used effectively to support quality education.

Qualifications and Essential Criteria   

  • Tertiary qualifications in Accounting or Business
  • Membership with a relevant professional accounting body
  • Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) and Working with Children’s Check (WWCC) registrations
  • Driver’s License.
